How StudyNest Works

From a new account to your first study session in a few minutes. Here is each step, and what happens next.

1. Create your account

Sign up with your email or your Google account, then enter the code we email you. Verifying your email turns on messages, notes, sessions and partner requests.

2. Tell us what you study

Add your subjects, level, study style and the times you are free. Partners find you through these details, so the more you add, the better the people you meet. You change them any time from your profile.

3. Find a partner

Open Find partners. Filter by subject, level, study style, country or free time, or search by name. Send a request. When the other person accepts, a chat opens for both of you.

4. Study together

Two ways, depending on your plans:

Right now: start a room from your chat and talk on video. Share your screen with its sound when you work through a problem.
Later: schedule a session with a subject, a time and a length. Everyone going gets a reminder 30 minutes before and another at the start. The host opens the room 15 minutes early.

5. Share and ask

Post notes for everyone, your partners, people you choose or only you. When you get stuck, ask Nour, your AI study buddy, from the menu or from inside a room. Send a photo of the question or a PDF of the slides.

6. Keep the habit

Study 30 minutes a day and your streak grows. Your profile shows your week, your total time and your longest streak. StudyNest counts time only while the app is open on your screen.

Questions people ask

How long does setup take?

A few minutes. Sign up, verify your email, add your subjects, and you see possible partners straight away.

Does StudyNest work on my phone?

Yes. Open studynest.dev in your phone browser. Every screen, video rooms included, works on phones, tablets and computers.

Do I need a university email?

No. Any email works, and so does Google sign-in.

Why do I need to be partners to message someone?

Direct messages work between partners only, so nobody messages you without your OK. Accepting a request opens the chat.
