About StudyNest

Rashid Al Ghafri
Software Engineering graduate from Oman with First-Class Distinction. I designed and built StudyNest on my own, as my senior capstone and beyond.
Why I built StudyNest
The idea began in my first weeks at university. I knew nobody. I wanted someone taking the same subjects, in the same year, who studied the way I did.
Apps for messaging people were everywhere. None of them helped me find the right people.
After the remote learning period, many students ended up studying alone. Nothing brought together the three things they needed: a suitable study partner, a space to work with them, and help the moment they get stuck.
I started in June 2025, during a summer course. I had a working first version three days later, and I kept building on it for a full year.
The name says what I want it to be. A nest is a bird's home: the place it is safe, grows up, and learns to fly. StudyNest is meant to be that for students.
What StudyNest is for
One place for studying with other people.
- Find study partners who share your subjects and study the way you do.
- Chat, plan study sessions, and meet in live rooms with voice, video and screen sharing.
- Share notes with everyone, with your partners, or only with yourself.
- Ask Nour, the study buddy, about a question or a file when you get stuck.
What happened so far
- 44 students used StudyNest in the pilot. 86% were satisfied, and 95% said the AI study assistant improved how they study.
- It was graded Distinction as my senior capstone.
- It was selected among the top 30 of 738 projects at the London International Youth Science Forum finals, held in Muscat.
